Lori Murphy

Lori Murphy brings over 20 years of experience in digital media. Her expertise includes user experience, strategy, information architecture, content development, user research, and product development.

Her early work at IfThen included user experience and creative direction for clients such as Cox Media Group, National Geographic, The Weather Company, Cartoon Network, and USA Today. Projects included redesigning and refreshing Cox Newspapers’ free and subscription services, UX consultation for National Geographic, and creative leadership for USA Today. She also works with startups, educational institutions, and nonprofits, including recent work with the University of Chicago, the Atlanta History Center, and the American Cancer Society.

Prior to joining IfThen, Lori led the UX and Product Development teams at CNN Digital for seven years, conceptualizing and evolving the experience of numerous products including CNN.com, CNN/Facebook early integrations, CNN’s iPhone app, and politics and elections coverage.

Her background also includes UX and user research work with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and a Master’s degree from Georgia Tech’s Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) program, where she worked with electronic learning communities and Brain-Computer Interfaces for patients with ALS.
